The latest version (Version 3.0) has seen the core model practices be augmented with no fewer than 8 specialist interest domains, providing best practice information for subjects such as Safety, Security and Data Management.
Arguably the most significant industry change in recent years has been the rise and take-up of AI technologies. Once confined to relatively niche, fringes of the IT world, AI has now become mainstream and is radically changing the way people work and organizations do business. The pace of progress in this area is unlikely to fall off for the foreseeable future, so work is underway to establish how CMMI can help organizations use AI technologies effectively, efficiently and ethically.
